We are so grateful for the privilege of hosting the arts in the jailhouse gallery for 44 years and thankful for those who guided that concept of creating an arts destination in an old jail. Thanks to Burke County and to the City of Morganton for allowing us to be here. Thanks to the artists who, from these walls, shared their work, sold their work, taught their craft, and grew from their experiences.
It’s been a wonderful ride and now it’s time to move on. We’re getting out of jail and have amazing plans for the future of the arts in Burke County....onward and upward!  Please help if you can – community support is what keeps us alive and your inspiration has meant the world to us for 44 years – please don’t stop.

If you have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out via email or you can call and leave a voice message 828-433-7282.
Thank you for your support and stay healthy!

A CALL FOR ARTISTS

“SHELTER”-  ARTWORK MADE DURING THE GREAT LOCKDOWN OF 2020

The Coronavirus is spreading around the globe and 95% of Americans are urged to stay home or shelter in place for the unforeseeable future.  Some artists thrive in self-isolation while others may find this experience lonely and boring.  Some of us may be grieving for friends or family.
