JAILHOUSE MUSIC CENTER - Hosted by Alan Darveaux.
In 1979, new artist-in-residence Alan Darveaux established the Jail House Music Center. The intent was to have acoustic musicians come and play in an
environmentally friendly atmosphere where listeners could sit and enjoy without the clang of bottles or dinner conversations.
Every Friday night for over a year musicians came to the Jailhouse to play to an appreciative audience. The success of the Jailhouse Music Center spread across western
North Carolina. Musicians young and old came to play and the crowd loved it.
Musicians, if you're interested in joining the Jailhouse Music Center, please contact Alan Darveaux at alandx@bellsouth.net.
