Call for Artists – Annual Woodworkers Exhibition

CALL FOR ARTISTS – The Burke Arts Council’s

THE BURKE ARTS COUNCIL is pleased to announce the return of the
Annual Woodworkers Exhibition

After a brief pause for construction and the pandemic, one of the most popular exhibitions of the year is back.  The Annual Woodworkers Exhibition, featuring the work of local wood turners, whittlers, and wood crafters will be on display at the new Burke Arts Council for five weeks, starting March 22.

Also on display, the students of WPCC, Professional Crafts Wood Program, under the direction of John Ferguson will show their current projects – from chairs to dressers to tables.  The program at WPCC offers an associate’s degree in Professional Crafts Woods as well as certificates in furniture design & construction. Students are provided with a range of opportunities to design & build their own piece of furniture.

The exhibition is sponsored by Klingspor Woodworking Shop of Hickory, North Carolina.

DATES OF THE EXHIBITION:  March 22 – April 27, 2024.
OPENING RECEPTION:  Friday, March 22, 5:30  – 7:30 PM
LOCATION: The Burke Arts Council, 506 S. Sterling Street, Morganton, North Carolina

Artist will provide:

  • Recent artwork created in the last two years and not previously shown at BAC.
  • Artist bio, artist statement, and hi-res images of your work
  • Inventory list including prices, titles, and materials used.
  • 30 % of all art sales will go the BAC to support their year-round programming.
