Kara’s work represents the large spectacular views of nature near Morganton, NC through colors and texture.
“I started this project in 2019, after being awarded the Regional Artist Project Grant, a program funded by the North Carolina Arts Council, the United Arts Council of Catawba County, the Caldwell Arts Council, the Hiddenite Center of Alexander County, the Rock School Art Foundation, the Burke Arts Council, and the McDowell Arts Council Association, with the hopes to have an in-person art show by summer of 2020.
However, the world and COVID presented a different plan. Continuing work through many major challenges was difficult. It took longer to finish and it was harder to fund the project. Finally, today I am able to see the end results and glad I can share the experience with you.
Artists everywhere have been faced with difficulties. Nature has been a solace for many and it continues to give me peace and hope.”
The artwork in this exhibit is for sale and beautifully framed by local woodworker, Benita Soper using wormy maple.
