14th Annual Woodworkers Exhibition and featuring “Postcards from the Edge”

Opening Reception for the Annual Woodworkers Exhibition and the Postcards from the Edge Traveling Exhibition – Friday, March 15, 2019

The 14th Annual Woodworkers Exhibition which feature the work of the students of WPCC, Professional Craft Wood Program, under the direction of John Ferguson. The students will show their current projects – from dressers to chairs to tables.

Also featuring these fine woodworking artists: Tom Blanton, Tom Denne, John Ferguson, Mark Kastner, Beau Lyday, Ronnie McMahan, Don Olsen, Robert Redus, Kasia Sweeny & James Ellis and the woodworking class of the Burke Senior Center.: Sheila Roberts, Mike Molyneux, and Gene Rivera.

Students of WPCC Professional Craft Clay Program under the direction of Courtney Long will be featured in the jail cell gallery.  

From March 15 through July 30, 2019, the Western Arts Agencies of North Carolina (WAANC) will coordinate a unique traveling art display.  Eight arts councils in the region will present Postcards from the Edge, a traveling exhibit of postcard-sized artwork created and donated by area artists to raise awareness and funds in support of the mission of the councils involved.

We here in Burke County, are very fortunate to have the generous contributions from many talented local artists including Sandra Bennett, Michael Berley, Scott Dergins, Diane Enger, Jeff Stark, Marcia Hill, Crystal Key, Sterling Lieske, Phillip Randall Perkins, Kathy Rosenberger, Carol Saling, and Kathi Yarnall.  The artists have contributed outstanding artwork in a small postcard size format.
