Joara Pottery Festival
THE SIXTH ANNUAL JOARA POTTERY FESTIVAL
The Exploring Joara Foundation will hold its 5th annual Joara Pottery Festival at the Old Armory Building in Historic Downtown Morganton, North Carolina on Friday and Saturday, May 15 and 16, 2015.
An advance viewing of the pottery show will be on Friday, May 15, 2015,
6:00 pm — 8:00 pm accompanied with food, music, and spirits.
This premier pottery show will feature 30 hand-picked potters from throughout Western North Carolina. These talented artists are well-known for their distinct pottery and represent both contemporary and traditional clay styles.
Enjoy music, pottery demonstrations, and food from the Pie Hole. Admittance is $4.00 per person, children 12 and under are FREE. Entrance fees support the Exploring Joara Foundation, a non-profit organization which sponsors public involvement in Foothills archaeology through educational programs, archaeological surveys, and excavations of Native American and European settlements.
