Joara Pottery Festival

THE SIXTH ANNUAL JOARA POTTERY FESTIVAL

The Explor­ing Joara Foun­da­tion will hold its 5th annual Joara Pot­tery Fes­ti­val at the Old Armory Build­ing in His­toric Down­town Mor­gan­ton, North Car­olina on Friday and Sat­ur­day, May 15 and 16, 2015.

An advance view­ing of the pot­tery show will be on Fri­day, May 15, 2015,
6:00 pm — 8:00 pm accompanied with food, music, and spir­its.

This premier pot­tery show will fea­ture 30 hand-​picked pot­ters from through­out West­ern North Car­olina. These tal­ented artists are well-​known for their dis­tinct pot­tery and rep­re­sent both con­tem­po­rary and tra­di­tional clay styles.

Enjoy music, pot­tery demon­stra­tions, and food from the Pie Hole. Admit­tance is $4.00 per per­son, chil­dren 12 and under are FREE. Entrance fees sup­port the Explor­ing Joara Foun­da­tion, a non-​profit orga­ni­za­tion which spon­sors pub­lic involve­ment in Foothills archae­ol­ogy through edu­ca­tional pro­grams, archae­o­log­i­cal sur­veys, and exca­va­tions of Native Amer­i­can and Euro­pean settlements.
