The mountains of North Carolina are home to some of the world’s most talented studio glass artists. To recognize the exceptional work of these distinguished artists, and others, an exhibition of work is scheduled in a collaborative effort taking place in four downtown Morganton, North Carolina venues: The Burke Arts Council, Kalā Gallery, John S. Payne Photography, and Hamilton Williams Gallery.  The Third Annual Western North Carolina Studio Glass Exhibition is scheduled to start June 2 and run through July 11, 2014. An opening reception for the artists is scheduled for Saturday, June 14, 5 – 8 pm at each participating gallery. The exhibition includes glass that is functional and sculptural in design. This includes many unique vessels in varied shapes and hues, as well as sculptural forms in blown or cast glass. The four galleries will serve as serve as singular venues for the exhibition and each will offer participants a distinct experience in viewing the entire exhibition of work.  Among the artists participating in this year’s exhibition are Virgil Jones of Asheville, Veronica and David Bennett of Winston Salem, Jan Kransberger of Asheville, Yaffa Todd and Jeff Todd of Burnsville, Alicia Kelemen of Marshall, Robert Gardner of Asheville, Scott Summerfield of Bakersville, Sam Stark of Asheville, Michael Hatch of Weaverville, Michael Trimpol and Monique LaJeunesse of Stowe, VT,  Loretta Eby and Jeff Jackson of Watkinsville, GA, Ronnie Hughes of Laurel Springs, and Tadishi Torii of Waynesville.
