These short demonstrations will soon be available for viewing on the Cheap Joe’s website.

Artist’s Statement:  “Whether I am expressing a feeling of excitement or quietness, a sense of time or place, a particular mood or drama, I enjoy portraying light and shadow through watercolor, gouache and acrylics.  The results can be both dramatic and surprising. It is my goal to capture the essence of the composition on the painting surface to capture the viewer’s attention.”

Judy exhibits her work year round in local and regional competitions and businesses. Judy’s originals are in many private and corporate collections. Mrs. Rider accepts commissions on fine and decorative art for your home or office.  She specializes in children, pet and, house portraits.  Her original artwork is available in Hickory at Hickory Museum of Art Gift Shop, The Sally Co., in Shoppes on the Square in downtown Hickory, and Art and Artifacts in Blowing Rock, NC, and the BurkeCounty Arts Council Jail House Gallery Gift Shop. Judy’s latest works were included in the National Watercolor Society 92nd Open Competition and the 67th Annual Watercolor Society of NC Juried Exhibition.
