Grassroots Grants

2015 -16 North Carolina Arts Council Grassroots Art Program Grants Application
The Burke Arts Council is now accepting applications for North Carolina Arts Council Grassroots Arts Program subgrant through August 31, 2015.  Since 1977, the North Carolina Art’s Council Grassroots Arts Program has provided North Carolina citizens access to quality arts experiences.  Using a per capita based formula, the program provides funding for the arts in all 100 counties of North Carolina through partnerships with local arts councils.  The Burke Arts Council serves as North Carolina’s partner in awarding subgrants to local organizations for arts programs.

Applications are available for non-profit organizations whose purpose is to promote and develop diverse cultural arts programming in Burke County.  Funding priority is given to qualified arts organizations (theaters, galleries, choral societies, festivals), arts in education programs conducted by qualified artists, and other community organizations that provide arts programs in the county.  Grassroots funds are not generally awarded to arts organizations that receive funding through the North Carolina Arts Council’s State Arts Resources.  Projects must occur between July 1, 2015 and May 31, 2016.

Application forms and grant guidelines are available on the North Carolina Arts Council website at, or may be picked up at the Burke Arts Council office Monday – Friday 10am – 4pm.  Or you may download the application:    Subgrant Application Form 15-16
